Skalia

SkaliaScala is a coastal village overlooking the islands of Telendos and Calavro. There is a cave named Skalia in the area, whose access is quite difficult, which is filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Located in the western part of the settlement is the church of Agios Mamas (Saint Mamas), which is built in the position of an ancient building as many other little churches. The inhabitants’ main occupation are cattle-breeding, agriculture and fishery. The rocky slopes along the road offer ideal climbing spots in an Aegean Sea background. Upon leaving the area there is a road on the right side leading visitors to Palionissos, which offers a beautiful beach and that island wilderness away from civilization. A place suitable for resting and relaxing.
